Our Story
Starting out with just two mixers, Tanis Concrete Inc., formerly Joel Tanis & Sons, Inc., was founded in 1942. Family owned and operated until 2005, the Tanis family took on pivotal roles in the growing company and today, the tradition of growth and company pride continues. With five state-of-the-art concrete plants and a world-class management team, Tanis Concrete Inc. is synonymous with exceptional products and customer service. Besides homeowners and area businesses, we service major highways, airports, and other state and municipal work throughout Northern New Jersey including Bergen, Hudson, Passaic, Essex, Morris and Sussex Counties. We’re available whenever and wherever you need us.

Our ACI-certified team then determines the best product and approach to fit your needs. Considering things like use, pumpability, early strength, set time, shrinkage, curability and more, we come up with optimal mix designs based on specified strengths and aesthetics and deliver the concrete you require. With more than 100 years of collective experience between us, we draw upon the successes of past projects to give you the best outcome by far. And that makes all the difference.
Meet the team
Tony Dell
President
Anthony Dellechiaie is President and CEO of Tanis Concrete, Inc. After a long career in the asphalt industry, he purchased the single-location concrete plant in Fair Lawn in 2005. He has since expanded the operation to include four additional strategically located concrete plants across Northern NJ. Keeping a hands-on role in the private family-owned company, Anthony can just as easily be found in the yard as well as in his office. Learning how a business works from the ground up has enabled Anthony the ability to see more than just figures, which has led largely to his success in making Tanis Concrete, Inc. the premier ready-mix supplier in the area.
Matthew Emmert
Vice President
In his role as Vice President, Mr. Matthew Emmert assumes leadership within the locally owned organization in conjunction with President Mr. Tony Dell. Possessing an extensive experience spanning more than 25 years in the concrete industry, Mr. Emmert has actively engaged in day-to-day operations and held various executive positions during his tenure. Presently, Mr. Emmert is responsible for overseeing all operational facets of Tanis Concrete and plays an integral role in fostering the company's ongoing success and growth
